Secondary Education Curricula

OOSA adopts the Alternative Secondary Education Pathway curricula for the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) studies. These curricula are outcome-focused, clearly defining the expectations for learners upon completion of the course.

Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) / O Level

Our compressed curriculum enables students to finish O-level secondary education within a span of just two (2) years. During the initial year, referred to as Stage 1, students cover subjects from form one (1) and form two (2), culminating in a mandatory National Qualifying Test administered by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA).

In the subsequent year, known as Stage 2, students focus on completing subjects from form three (3) and form four (4). Following this stage, they are required to sit for the national Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) examination, also conducted by NECTA.

O-Level Subjects

O-level Examinations Overview

Upon completion of Stage I subjects, our learners will undergo a crucial step in their academic journey – the national Qualifying Test (QT) administered by NECTA. This pivotal assessment is a prerequisite for progressing to Stage II. Successfully obtaining a pass in the QT opens the door for our learners to register for and undertake the national Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) examination, another significant milestone facilitated by NECTA.

At OOSA, we streamline the examination process by assisting our learners in registering as private candidates for both the QT and CSEE examinations. These assessments take place at designated examination centers determined by NECTA, ensuring a standardized and fair testing environment.

In addition to these national examinations, OOSA prioritizes a comprehensive and continuous assessment regime for our learners. Throughout their study period with us, we administer class tests, term examinations, and mock examinations. This multifaceted approach not only prepares our learners for the rigors of external assessments but also provides ongoing feedback and opportunities for academic growth. At OOSA, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped for success in their educational pursuits.

Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE)/A Level

Welcome to the ACSEE Program at OOSA! Our Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) offering is designed to provide students with a comprehensive and advanced educational experience.

A-Level Subjects

At OOSA, learners have the flexibility to choose from one of our subject combinations to fulfill the requirements for Advanced Level (A-level) secondary school education.

General Studies is a compulsory subject for all A-Level Learners regardless of their choice of subject combination.

A-level Examinations Overview

Our curriculum at OOSA allows learners to complete A-level secondary education within one year for Arts combinations and two years for Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STM) combinations. Following this, learners are required to undertake the national Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE) examination administered by NECTA.

For STM combinations involving subjects with practical examinations (e.g., Physics and Chemistry), our learners have the option to choose alternative to practical examinations, also issued by NECTA.

OOSA facilitates the registration of our learners as private candidates for the aforementioned examinations, with the exams conducted at designated centers determined by NECTA.

Beyond these national examinations, OOSA maintains a continuous assessment system, providing learners with class tests, term examinations, and mock examinations throughout their study period. This approach ensures a holistic evaluation and prepares learners for academic challenges beyond the classroom.
