Admissions and Enrollment
Is there an application fee?
Yes, a non-refundable registration fee to the tune of TZS 20,000.00 is payable during submission of the application.
What are the admission requirements?
OOSA is an academically non-selective school, and our model caters for all, new (O-level/A-level) secondary school Learners, those who have struggled in their prior schooling, those who are highly academic, talented and gifted as well as those who wish to pursue Tuition and short-term course certification. Please contact our Admissions Office for details.
We aim to encourage applications from prospective Learners with a diverse range of backgrounds. This enriches our community and prepares our students for today’s world. OOSA is committed to equal treatment for all, regardless of a prospective Learners’ gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or social background. Due consideration is given to the particular circumstances, educational, cultural and financial, of all candidates. OOSA welcomes applications from students with alternative educational backgrounds, such as those who have attended online schools previously or been fully or partially home-schooled.
OOSA Intakes:
Our secondary school admissions usually takes place twice in a year, January to February for the March intake, and July to August for the September intake. Prospective Learners who wish to pursue Tuition and short-term courses can be admitted at any period of the year.
Admission Steps:
Initiate the admission process by completing and submitting an enquiry form through the OOSA website, via email at admission@oosa.academy, or by contacting us at +255 62403 0579.
Fill out and submit the enrolment form, accessible through the OOSA website.
Within the enrolment form, parents/guardians of prospective learners or adult learners are required to provide recent school reports or the highest qualification, documentation related to special educational needs and disabilities (if applicable), ID documentation, and a student photo.
Proceed to make an initial payment of fees, which will be invoiced at the end of the form. This payment includes a school fees deposit (full settlement or initial instalment) and a non-refundable TZS 20,000.00 registration fee (refer to the fees structure for details).
The Admissions Team will process the application and send an email or make a phone call to parents/guardians or adult learners confirming acceptance.
Our Admissions Team will then coordinate with you for the required payment.
We look forward to the learner progressing with OOSA for the entire academic year or the duration of the enrolled course.
Assessments and Examinations
Can I take my examinations online since I’m learning online?
Unfortunately, no. Regulations mandate that examinations must be conducted under face-to-face invigilation. However, the examination fee covers the selection of an authorised examination center of your choice.
Where can I take my examination?
For internal examinations, learners have the convenience of writing from their homes or offices through our virtual learning platform. However, all national examinations must be taken at authorized examination centers.
Will there be an additional fee for the examination?
No, the school fees covers the cost of an authorised examination center of your preference.
Are there alternative assessments for practical subjects?
We understand that not all students have access to laboratory facilities. Therefore, our Learners can opt for alternative to practical examinations designed to accommodate students who lack laboratory access while ensuring they can engage with the practical aspects of science subjects effectively. Additionally, OOSA provides Virtual Laboratory services for learners pursuing science subjects, enabling them to supplement their practical learning experience.

What extracurricular activities are available online?

Yes, at OOSA, Learners can engage with each other through virtual study groups and discussion forums.
Accreditation and Recognition
Will my online certificate be recognized by employers or other educational institutions?
Upon successful completion of their studies, eligible secondary school learners will be awarded two types of certificates. Firstly, they will receive School Leaving Certificates issued by the Institute of Adult Education (IAE). Secondly, Academic Certificates (CSEE and ACSEE) will be issued by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA). Additionally, eligible short-term course learners will receive certificates of attendance issued by OOSA.
Is OOSA accredited?
Yes, OOSA is accredited by the Institute of Adult Education (IAE), a statutory body operating under the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology of the United Republic of Tanzania.
